"A Walk in a Dogon Village, Mali."

"A Walk in a Dogon Village, Mali."
Steel. 1999. 60" x 42" x 30."
Subject
The subject is the Dogon region of Mali, which the sculptor visited in 1993.
The aim of the sculpture is to recreate walking through a Dogon village.
The visit commences by walking down from the cliff, via a narrow passageway between rocks. One then progresses down through the village until they reach the well on the plane below.

Object
The object is derived from a strong interest in the narrative in art.
